This lightweight seat pad celebrates the rich textile history of the Persian part of the Silk Road. Its handwoven Ikat fabric, made of hand-dyed yarns is complemented by an interior filled with 100% cotton. The artistry of the fabric is in the blurry look and color combinations chosen by the weaver. Only master artisans with years of experience can dye the yarns and line them up on a loom in such a way to create such a beautiful effect.

Reviving handloom textiles

Through centuries of interlacing warp and weft threads on a handloom, generations of weavers across the old Silk Road have left us with a rich legacy of diverse textiles that is unknown to the rest of the world. In partnership with several cooperatives in the region, we are working to revive this endangered handicraft and to create livelihoods for its forgotten artisans.
